Textile machinery manufacturing company, Saco and Biddeford, Me. Formed in 1912 from the consolidation of Saco-Pettee Company and the Lowell Machine Shops. Saco-Pettee's history extends back on one side to 1825 when the Pettee Machine Works, Newton, Mass., were established and to 1839 on the other side when the Saco Water Power Company was founded.
